Church to Close for the Summer - Not!
The following is reprinted from the newsletter of the Church of the Redeemer, Orangeburg
It’s been fun. I’ve really enjoyed being with you.
Thank you for your faithful attendance over the last nine months but summer’s here, and as you know, we close down the church for the months of June, July and August. We’ll see you in September...
Of course I’m kidding, but I’m kidding to make a point. The point is this: Summer is here, and so are we!
Let’s say you’ve got a big day planned next Sunday. Rather than miss a Sunday, why not try a different service? Have you worshiped at 8:00 a.m. lately? If it's been awhile, or you’ve never tried our earliest service, do check us out. There’s a joy there and a welcoming friendliness that will make you want to come back again and again. And you can be on your way to the lake or the beach or on the links before 9:00!
If you want to hang around after worship we always seem to have a nice breakfast snack to share. Sometimes there are sweet rolls or cake or donuts or biscuits, other times there’s fruit and breakfast casseroles. Along with all the breakfast goodies there’s always some great conversation and fresh coffee. Check us out this Sunday.
Our later service at 10:30 is a great option if you want to sleep late or head out to Sunday lunch afterward. And let me tell you - We'll make your Sunday joyous! Our choir and our organ soar us straight to heaven with the finest traditional worship anywhere. Anywhere! We feed you with a great sermon for your head and heart and Holy Communion for your soul. And we'll have you in your favorite restaurant before the other churches can get there!
With our two great Sunday morning services, we’ve got you covered. Take your choice, and do join us - every Sunday - all summer long!
We also have some special summer teachings planned, our regular monthly movie nights, Women's activities, men’s activities, Grandparents activities, a July party at Camp Anderson and much, much more on the way. We think it’s church like you always knew it could be.
Yes, I do hope I will see you in September, but actually, I hope I’ll
See You Sunday!
