The promises made to children at the time of their Baptism, provide the foundation for establishing and maintaining church policies addressing protecting children from abuse. "Safeguarding God's Children" is a training program which addresses protecting children from sexual abuse in church settings. Diocesan policy mandates this training for church personnel, in particular those working with children and youth. Feedback from past attendees suggests that parents and, indeed, all adults can gain additional skills and become more empowered through participating in the program.
Polly Sosnowski, Child Abuse Prevention Trainer for the Diocese of SC will hold a class on Saturday, August 28 from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive. Coffee and donuts at 8:45am.
