Thank you for your interest in the Jubilate Deo, the newspaper of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina. The newspaper is mailed three times a year to over 15,000 households. As an arm of the Diocese its content reflects the vision, mission and work of the Diocese. Articles should inspire, teach, educate or inform. News should be of interest to a large number of readers and be tied, in a clear way, to the Diocese.

Submitting Articles
We encourage brevity. Notices about upcoming events should be between 200-300 words. Feature articles should be no more than 1,000 words. Other than using paragraphs and subheads, do not format articles, by adding unusual fonts, additional columns, boxes or clip art.

Articles will not be accepted without the following contact information at the top of page one:

Because we receive so many submissions, we are not able to publish every article. We reserve the right to edit for length and to make the article appropriate for a wide audience.

Naming Articles and Photographs
Please name your articles and photographs with either the name of your church or ministry, your last name or a descriptive feature in the article. For example, "dok_fall_assembly.doc" or "grace_charleston_guest_speaker.doc." Please don't name your article, "jubilate_deo_article.doc."

With your article submission include captions for your photographs as well as the name of the photographer.

Submitting Photographs
All photographs must be submitted in color at high resolution as either JPEGs or TIFFs, (300 dpi at the size the photo will be printed). Please include, at the end of your article (as part of the word document) a descriptive caption, including the full names of those pictured (if under ten people) and the name of the photographer. Be creative with your photographs. Show action (praying, talking, laughing, singing) rather than sending an "everyone look here and say 'cheese,'" photograph.

If you have a number of photos and aren’t sure which to send, upload them to a free web album site, such as Picasa, (http://picasa.google.com) and send us the link. We’re happy to make the selection.
