At the Diocesan Clergy Day held October 11, 2011, the Bishop provided an overview of the allegations against him being considered by the Disciplinary Board for Bishops. A synopsis was also presented of the canonical proceedings, as we best understood them, and the possible outcomes. In concluding, the Bishop emphasized that these were matters that needed to be taken up promptly in every deanery and parish. During the ensuing conversation, a request was made by clergy for materials to support those parish conversations. The following resources are intended to provide that requested tool.

Two resources are available here. The first is a two page outline of the topics covered (provided in MS Word and as a PDF) that can be used as a handout. The second is an overhead to be used in presenting the information. This is available as both an MS PowerPoint presentation and as a downloadable PDF.  The notes included in the presentation provide some additional background information for those who need it. The working presumption of the format is that its intended use is for a one hour parish forum. Consequently, it is relatively concise in dealing with what we believe are the pertinent issues. Feel free to customize both tools as will be most helpful for your parish setting.
