Trinity, Pinopolis' "A Resting Place: A Time for Reflection and Healing Prayer for Women"

On Wednesday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. Trinity Episcopal Church, Pinopolis, will offer a Lenten event for women designed to promote reflection on the goodness and love of God.  After a time of fellowship, the service will include testimonies, music, and opportunities to pray and receive prayer.  Testimonies will be shared by Deacon Martha Horn and Tina Vinson.

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."  Matthew 11:28-30

Holy Comforter’s Noonday Lenten Luncheons, February 29-March 28

2012 Lenten Theme and Speakers for Noonday Lenten Lunches

Church of the Holy Comforter, 213 N Main, Sumter SC 29150, 803-773-3823

12-1pm Parish Hall. $5 donation suggested for soup and sandwich, beverages.

I believe; help my unbelief. A father asks Jesus to heal his son. Jesus tells him that with God all things are possible for those who believe. Then comes the father's stunningly truthful prayer: I believe; help my unbelief. Our own hearts have felt that anguish: stuck between where we want to be and the doubts, hurts, and fears which grip us. Amazingly, Jesus is not repulsed; he meets the father where he struggles. This Lent we want to look at how Jesus meets our unbelief and turns it to trust and transformation.

February 29.   Jesus and Suffering. Dallas Wilson, St. John's Mission, Charleston
March 7           Jesus and Unanswered Prayer. Andrew O'Dell, St. Matthew's, Darlington
March 14         Jesus and Doubt. John Scott, St. Paul's, Summerville
March 21         Jesus and Unbelief that God can change me. Dick Lincoln, Shandon Baptist, Columbia
March 28         Jesus and Doubts in the Face of Death. Michael Lumpkin, St. Paul's, Summerville
