The International Order of St. Vincent

We are a worldwide society of lay sanctuary ministers of all ages to promote liturgical knowledge; understanding of ritualistic detail and meaning; and to encourage fellowship, intercessory prayer, and holy living among its members. Open to all acolytes, lay readers, lectors, lay Eucharistic ministers, sacristans (altar guild), ushers, greeters, vergers, and choristers either as individual members or as members of a parochial chapter. The Order of St. Vincent strives to instill reverence, cooperation, responsibility, discipline, mentorship, leadership, humility, quest for excellence, and joy of servanthood by emphasizing a “stairway of lay ministry” that leads to active adult churchmanship. OSV is sacramentally centered and encourages a rule of life. The Order is dedicated to service, committed to education, bound by fellowship, and avowed by the Rule of the Order.
