Join the Cathedral Walkabout!
The week of August 9 thru 13, your Cathedral will be hosting its annual week-long "Walkabout" teaching series in the evenings, and the entire Diocese is invited.
The teachings this year will revolve around the encounter between Jesus and the tax collector Zacchaeus, with a goal of learning more about how we as Christians can better "see Jesus." We are very excited to announce the lineup of speakers: Monday-- The Rev'd Dr. John Barr III; Tuesday-- The Rev'd John Zahl; Wednesday-- The Rev'd Rob Sturdy; Thursday-- The Rt Rev'd Mark Lawrence, Bishop of SC.
The Walkabout will once again wrap up on Friday evening with a festive event, Bluegrass "n" Burgers, in the churchyard. There will be burgers, hotdogs, all the fixings, lemonade, and live bluegrass provided by Good News, a Lowcountry ensemble that features several St. Michaelites and Dean Peet Dickinson.
Full details for The Walkabout are available at www.your-cathedral.org/walkabout. Because there is a meal and a fantastic kids program each night, pre-registration for the Monday-Thursday is required. There are separate forms on-line for registering adults and registering kids.
If you can only attend Bluegrass n Burgers, there is no pre-registration required, and offerings will be accepted at the gate. FYI, Good News live performances are getting harder to find-- and you don't want to miss this. Even by "other musicians' standards," this group is the real bluegrass deal! Coolers and picnic blankets are welcome!
