Want to reach kids all over the world for Christ?  Then, consider Operation Christmas Child!  Reach impoverished kids who may never have received any gift ever before.  This ministry of Samaritan’s Purse seeks to put a shoebox packed with useful things, fun toys and supplies into the hands of underprivileged children throughout the world.  Some Churches including (St. Michael’s, The Parish Church of St. Helena and others) participate every year & reap bountiful benefits.  Givers sometimes even receive letters from children who received a shoebox!

NOW is the perfect time to launch OCC!  Boxes are collected the week of November 14-21st in 2016.  Any group can build boxes: families, classes, Bible Studies, couples, groups of friends, youth groups, supper clubs and of course, Churches.  Prayed over by the senders, The Holy Spirit inhabits each box and is directed to a particular child whom He chooses.

Duval Acker, a member of St. Michael’s, Charleston, is a year-round volunteer for OCC who’s available to answer questions, give assistance and speak in your church about the loving children through gift shoeboxes.  

OCC Shoeboxes are distributed only through local churches, and each child who gets one is invited to a 12-week discipleship study on Jesus in his/her own language.  At the conclusion of “The Greatest Journey”, the child receives a diploma and a New Testament in his/her own language in a "graduation" ceremony.  It's a powerful outreach to children first, but then siblings join in and parents often become believers, all because a child received a box.
