At 6 pm on June 15, 2015, God willing, Hunter Jordan will be ordained to the transitional diaconate at Trinity Church, Myrtle Beach. The Rt. Reverend Mark Lawrence will ordain Jordan, and the Rev. Iain Boyd, Rector of Trinity, will preach.
Clergy from across the Diocese are invited to participate in the procession. The Rev. Donnie MacDaniel, Mr Rod Sanders, Mrs Barbara Simmons, Mr Bill Ervin and Mr Joe Ervin will also participate in the service. Hunter is originally from Florence, SC. He earned his BS in Business Management from Clemson University and will receive his MDiv from Nashotah House Theological Seminary. He was actively involved in Young Life for his four years of college, as well as spending his summers serving at Camp St. Christopher. Post college Hunter spent five years as the youth and family pastor at Trinity Church Myrtle Beach. After two years at Nashotah, Hunter is coming back to the Diocese to serve at St. Matthew's Church in Darlington, SC. Hunter is married to Walker and they have two little girls, Tindall Claire (4) and Emma Ruth (2), and are adopting their son, Walter (1), from South Korea and hope to bring him home at the end of the summer.
