“They know us and pray for us: We are not alone”
 A Brief Q&A with the Rev. Bob Lawrence on day two of GAFCON II in Kenya
Q: I understand you traveled with Bishop and Allison Lawrence and Greg Snyder. How did the four of you find traveling together, any interesting travel moments or incidents?
A: Travel together was fun. We had layovers in both Boston and Amsterdam with opportunities to share meals, explore a few shops, and to guard one another's luggage while waiting. In Amsterdam we ran into quite a few folks that were also en route to GAFCON so that provided a great opportunity to greet old friends and make new ones.
Q: If you had to name one GAFCON conversation that meant the most to you personally so far what would it be and with whom did it happen?
A: With the opportunities to have already met so many people throughout the Anglican Communion, it was particularly gratifying to have a conversation with Archbishop Stanley Ntagali who approached me to greet me, to ask about my family and to offer his continued prayers for the Diocese of South Carolina. At the time he approached me, I was talking with his successor, Bishop George Kasangaki of the Masindi-Kitara Diocese, who had been looking to give me greetings from my son, who is his neighbor in Masindi.
Q: If you had to name or or two ways that we could pray specifically for the conference what would those be?
A: Pray that God would pour out His Holy Spirit for the beginning of a new revival throughout the church through what He can accomplish at this gathering. Pray for the persecuted church throughout the world which is widely represented by many in attendance. Pray for the health and safety of all gathered.
Q: What has struck you most about being in a different place with so many Anglicans from so many varied locales?
A: This is what heaven will be like someday, and what a joyous opportunity to get a taste of it now. I am also reminded of how small the world is when the opportunities exist to share in fellowship with others that I have met before in places throughout the world. South Carolina is particularly blessed to be in relationship with bishops and provinces throughout the world. They know us and pray for us. We are not alone.
