Clergy Gather at St. Christopher for Annual Conference PDF Print E-mail

three photos from clergy conference

One hundred clergy gathered at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center October 27-29, 2014 for the Annual Diocesan Clergy Conference. The first half of the Conference was led by the Rt. Rev. Ken Clarke, retired bishop of the diocese of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh in the Church of Ireland and current Director of SAMS Ireland and UK. His three talks on the life of St. Peter focused on how Jesus sees us, that failure is not final and our response to Jesus’ question, “Do you love me?” Audio recordings of his talks can be found here.

The remainder of the time was spent in conversations with Bp. Lawrence on matters such as evangelism, stewardship and our discernment of provincial affiliation. The conference concluded with worship together, highlighted by the sermon from the Rev. Mike Lumpkin, "Living in Relative Obscurity" where he summarized insights from over 30 years of parish ministry. It was a blessed time of refreshment and renewal for all the clergy present and a much appreciated respite in the midst of a busy fall season. View the photo album.
