Advent Service & Breakfast: December 15, 22: at St. Michael’s, Charleston, Tuesdays at 7:00 am Eggs, bacon, worship and testimonies by Confirmation Students.

Christmas Cantata, December 13: St. John’s Parish Church, Johns Island, will offer their  Christmas Cantata for its sixth year with a presentation of ‘Breath of Heaven’, by Dove Award-winning composer Russell Mauldin. This festive music will be offered by the Choir and members of the contemporary music group, and will be followed by a celebratory reception in the Walton Hall, hosted by the Daughters of the King.

Caroling and Cookies with the Choristers, December 13
The Choir of Boys & Girls at the Cathedral, Charleston, will lead a group in caroling around their downtown neighborhood beginning at 4:30 p.m. December 13 and returning to the Cathedral for cookies and hot chocolate. All are welcome to come and sing!

Live Drive Through Nativity, December 12 & 13; The Church of the Resurrection, Surfside Beach,  will host their annual live drive-through nativity from 5 - 8:30 p.m. on December 12 and 13. The rain date is December 14. There will be seven scenes wand more than 50 actors. Live camel, donkey, calf, sheep, goats and llamas are participating. Admission is free and donations are welcome.

Crèche Festival Open House, December 15: Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant, is having their second annual Creche Festival on Saturday, December 15 from 10 am - 2 pm and 4 - 8pm, or by appointment. Stop by and see the crèches loaned by families and friends of Christ Church. There is no charge to attend, but donations to Christ Church Tree Church Project will be accepted. Learn more.

Blue Christmas Service, December 16: On Wednesday, December 16 at 5:30 p.m. St. Michael’s, Charleston, will be offering a special service for those grieving over the loss of a loved one. The service will include Holy Communion, Rite II, Contemporary Worship and Healing Prayer.

Christmas Caroling, December 17: On Thursday, December 17 at 6:00 p.m. join with St. Michael's parishioners in front of the church portico to join in walking around the Holy City singing good tidings of great joy


East Cooper Concert Series presents "Christmas in Hollywood," December 17: On December 17 at 7 p.m. enjoy music from Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant's, fabulous 30-voice choir accompanied by strings and flute singing selections from the big screen such as Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, The Bells of St. Mary and Silver Bells as well as all your favorite carols. Soloists include Baritone Robert Dickson and pianist Dr. Lorna Barker. Admission is $15. Tickets are available in the church office or at the door the evening of the performance. Learn more.

First Seven Words of Christmas, December 19: St. Timothy’s, Cane Bay in Summerville will offer a 5 p.m. service on December 19.  The liturgy for the worship service will be seven members of St. Timothy’s speaking on the First Seven Words of Christmas  as a modified Lessons and Carols.  Please join us and bring friends!  Hospitality afterwards.

Hayride & Caroling, December 20: St. Paul's, Summerville, will have a hayride & caroling event followed by a spaghetti supper on Sunday Decemer 20. Everyone will gather at the church at 4 p.m. for caroling. Tickets are $5 for ages 12 and up. Please purchase tickets in advance in the church office or at the church on Sunday morning.

A Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols, December 20: The Cathedral of St. Luke & St. Paul, Charleston will offer a Festival of Lessons and Carols on Sunday, December 20, 6pm w/ Cathedral choristers, Cathedral choir & organ. The Cathedral Choir and The Cathedral Choir of Boys and Girls sing a beautiful service patterned after the one made famous at King's College, Cambridge.

Handels Messiah, December 20: 
On Sunday, December 20 at 6 p.m. the Church of the Holy Comforter, Sumter will present Handel's Messiah featuring area musicians and voices, in the sanctuary. It's glorious! Free, donations welcomed.

Epiphany Service and Chili Cook-Off, January 6: Holy Comforter, Sumter, will have their Epiphany service at 6 pm on January 6, followed by a King's Cake celebration in the Parish Hall, including a Chili Cook-Off. RSVP to (803) 773-3823.

Epiphany Evensong, January 6: Trinity Church of Myrtle Beach will be holding a special Epiphany Evensong on Wednesday, January 6th, starting at 6pm.  The St. Augustine Choir of Trinity Church will present an evensong service using the Rite I Traditional Anglican liturgy for Epiphany.  A Christmas Cookie Reception will follow in Gravely Hall.  For more information, please contact our Director of Music, Ashley Sosis by phone at (843)448-8426 or by email at [email protected].
