Dr. Charles L. Echols III will be ordained to the Transitional Diaconate at 6 pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at St. Matthew's Parish Church, Fort Motte.

Charles has Masters degrees from Trinity School for Ministry and St. Andrew's University (Scotland), and a PhD in Biblical Studies from Cambridge University (England). He and his wife, The Rev. Janet Roberts Echols, served with Anglican Frontier Missions in Pune, India for five years before returning to the Diocese. In India Charles taught Old Testament at Union Biblical Seminary, the oldest evangelical seminary in India. He is the author of several books and is currently teaching at South University in Columbia.
