Pleasant is holding its 3rd Annual Tree Church Project 5K Run / Walk at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 5, 2016 at Charleston County’s new Laurel Hill Park in Mount Pleasant. In 2014 Christ Church constructed a church building for the Samburu people in the Game Community of Marsabit. This community used to worship under an Acacia tree which was in danger of being washed away by a seasonal river.

In 2015, a church was built for the Boran people in the Elebor community, which had used an outcropping of a rock under which to hold their church services.
