It’s been said that the journey from the head to the heart is the longest, most difficult journey you will ever encounter. It’s also the most important one you will ever make. Join Mark Lawrence, Bishop of the Diocese of South Carolina, for a diocesan men’s summit examining what God has say about this journey and the direction of our lives.
All men (teenagers and up) are invited to participate.

Shay Gaillard

He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College and spent 10 years in youth ministry, serving seven as Camp Director at Camp St. Christopher. When the call to ordained ministry came, Shay and his family traveled to Pittsburgh and studied at Trinity School for Ministry. After graduation he served as the curate at St. Paul’s in Conway before becoming the rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd in 2007. Shay is married to Tara, and they have four daughters.
Regi Campbell
Regi Campbell is an entrepreneur by trade, having been involved in founding 15 companies. He has served as a CEO four times, in companies from startup to $100m in sales. He was also involved in the launch of North Point Community Church serving on the long range planning team and as an elder.

But what Regi is most passionate about is mentoring younger men to be better husbands, fathers, leaders and Christ-followers. He led his first mentoring group in 2001 and founded Radical Mentoring in 2007 to equip and encourage churches and other mentors to do the same. Having championed the idea of small group mentoring since then, Radical Mentoring has seen over 1600 men sign up to be mentors and has worked with numerous churches, big and small to launch mentoring programs of their own. Regi currently lives in Roswell, GA with his wife of 44 years, Miriam. They have two children and five grandchildren.

Todd is currently the Director of Worship Leader Development at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, GA. He lives there with his wife, Carrie, and their 4 boys, Chandler, Carter, Connor, and Collin.
Todd has led worship for more than 20 years, and has personally coached loads of senior pastors and worship leaders on how to create engaging worship services, how to build unified teams, and how to become better leaders on stage and off. Along with mentoring worship leaders at North Point, Todd travels both in the US and internationally coaching Worship Leaders and their Senior Pastors on how to be better leaders.
Leading worship for such communicators as Charles Stanley and Andy Stanley, Billy Graham, Louie Giglio and more, Todd has developed a unique way of guiding worship leaders that stems from his vast experience in different church and worship cultures around the world.
Most recently, Todd has partnered with The Rocket Company to create Worship Rocket, an online, 12-module training resource for worship leaders. Todd has also developed his own unique worship leader coaching network called Worship Circle, which gathers worship leaders into small training circles, guided by veteran worship leader coaches such as himself.

Rhinos, Elephants and Men, Oh My!
By the Rev. Rob Kunes, Associate Priest, Christ-St. Paul's Parish, Younges Island, SC
In 1999, 39 white rhinos were killed in Pilanesberg Park, South Africa, and it was not the work of poachers. No horns were taken; no bullets used. Who or what was responsible for the death of 10% of the rhino population? The answer: Elephants.
Young bull elephants, who were orphaned as youngsters, had grown into physically mature elephants with a thug mentality. They were killing the rhinos the park worked so hard to protect and harassing busloads of tourists on safari. Why would they do it? Well, like juvenile delinquents, they had grown up without role models.
“I think everyone needs a role model, and these elephants that left the herd had no role model and no idea of what appropriate elephant behavior was,” said Gus van Dyk, Pilanesberg Park’s field ecologist. “The solution was mentoring: Bring in bigger, older bull elephants to show the young bulls a better way.”
Intentional Generational Discipleship is the Theme for this Year’s Christian Men’s Conference.
We have a fabulous slate of speakers, including our very own Fr. Shay Gaillard as the keynote speaker. Regi Campbell, author of the book Mentor Like Jesus, will lead a workshop explaining his program called Radical Mentoring which he has been doing at Northpoint Church in Alpharetta, GA, for the past decade. (Andy Stanley wrote the Foreword to Regi’s book.) Through the connection with Northpoint, we have also secured Northpoint’s Lead Worship Pastor, Todd Fields, to lead our worship. What an incredible combination of teaching, worship, and fellowship.
Men, mark your calendars! Wives, mark your husband’s calendar (because another of Regi’s books is titled What Radical Husbands Do. February 26-28, 2015 is the date of the next Christian Men’s Conference. We hope to see you there!
