Bishop Lawrence to be Keynote Speaker at 128th ECW Annual Meeting.

The 128th Annual Meeting of the Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of South Carolina will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012. The Church of the Holy Cross, Sullivan’s Island is hosting the gathering. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. The Business Meeting will begin at 9:15 a.m. During this time the approved 2012-2013 Budget will be presented for adoption, the new ECW Diocesan Board members will be elected and the 2012-2013 ECW Project will be voted upon. Nominees for the project are Grace Home for Women (Hebron Colony Ministries), St. Alban’s Chapel at the Citadel, and Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy.

The keynote speaker is our bishop, the Rt. Rev. Mark J. Lawrence. Following the morning business meeting and his address, Bishop Lawrence will be the celebrant at a service of Holy Communion. He will install the new ECW Board members and bless the returning Board for their final year of service. The Very Rev. John Burwell will give the homily. We will pray for our departed sisters in Christ from the Roll of Remembrance, and present the UTO offering, the CPC offering, and contributions to Water Missions International, the 2011 ECW Diocesan Project. Each parish is asked to please bring their beautiful banners and stands for the procession. Clergy are encouraged to attend and invited to vest and process with the ECW Board.

Immediately following the service, there will be lunch in the parish hall.

All are invited to come for a day of fellowship, prayer, ministry, worship, renewal and fun as we gather before the Lord to thank him for all that He has done for us and for the privilege of serving Him. Don’t forget to invite your clergy, register them and pay for their lunch. We are always so glad for the support of our clergy.
